I've been using Ad aware for years and years now, version 1.06. Now and for the last month it won't update any more, I know that there is a ad aware 2007 now and I've tried it with no luck with jaws. What programs are the rest of you using to keep the spy ware pests down! I guess I could go back to spybot I just didn't think that program did as good of a job as ad aware does .

you might wanna go to the website and do the download manually to perform an update on that particular version. Download the latest definitions zip file from the website and just click on the .ref file. Ad aware will come up and ask you if you want to add the new definitions. Works for me. Anything going wrong let me know.

I stupidly installed ad aware 2007 which took away my working version of ad aware. Right, 2007 doesn't work with jaws (at least for me).
I wrote lavasoft but no response so far.

It's back to spybot for me.

i tried adaware today and it's the first time it wouldn't update for me. if anyone can recommend any other good spy wear programmes, let me know.

again, never tried downloading the definition file and updating it manually? there's got to be some sort of router/firewall issue or just having the wrong link into the software's routine for updating.

No, they've upgraded to ad aware 2007, or something like that. Earlier versions won't update.
I think you can update manually by going to their site still.

haha, well thats interesting. I just did it because it seems intuitive that you could download the latest definition file since i remembered reading over that link sometime ago. The question is now, if you wanna get the same ad-aware that works with your screen reader where is it? i have it on cds and such but I am just wondering.

select the link "Download Current Definition File for Ad-Aware SE" which is at january 23. Or just google that phrase and see where it takes you.
